PROCESS & FEE STRUCTURE

JWN Designs holds to a high stand of communication & forth-rightness.  The process & fees discussion is no exception.  In an effort to have the most informed clients,  JWN works hard to create clarity & thus chooses to complete design work on a Fee Based structure, while selling products & facilitating  projects on a Cost Plus structure.

FULL SERVICE DESIGN

I.  DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
     Project designs are developed in this phase for a Flat Fee.
          -  Projects begin with a Project Discovery Meeting to establish the specific project needs, wants, vision & challenges. An agreed 
             upon Scope of Work document is developed from this information.  The anticipated hours required to complete the Scope of
             Work is the basis for the Design Fee, presented for approval in the form of a Design Development: Letter of Agreement.
          -  Design Development Typical Process:
                   Preliminary Design ~ general design direction is developed
                   Schematic Design ~ multiple design variations are intermediately prepared
                   Final Design ~ the selected design is developed/refined into the complete design presented for client use & implementation.  
                                         
II. PURCHASE/IMPLEMENT PHASE
     Project designs are implemented & products are procured in this phase for a Cost Plus Fee (only).  
          -  The entire Final Design or client selected specific elements are prepared through final installation with an approved
             Implementation/Purchase: Letter of Agreement.
          -  Design Implementation:  Project Management of the final design includes coordination of contractors, fabricators, installers &
             applicable products.  An administrative fee of 25% on the cost of labor & materials covers the management process plus site
             visits & trade meetings necessary for design implementation.   
          -  Furnishings & Materials: Trade-only net pricing is passed on directly to JWN clients at a cost plus 25% administrative fee
             for all items presented in the Final Design.  This fee covers order preparation, follow-up & coordination of installation.

DESIGN CONSULTATION

    TWO HOUR CONSULTATION
     For times when a limited amount of professional design direction is desired, a design consultation is available for a Flat $300 Design Fee. 
           -  Two Hour Consultation meeting agenda & pace is set completely by the client. Topics can vary as the client sees appropriate.
             Design consultation time is great for: direction on finishing touches of an almost complete but "stuck" design, review collected
             design ideas, discuss potential retail purchases, re-arrange existing furniture, select paint colors, hang pictures, review pre-
             construction plans, Real Estate Staging, etc..   
          -  Professional Design Consultation is also available to be given as a gift.
