PRINCIPAL DESIGNER
Julie brings a distinctively architectural enrichment & enlivening take to creating quality designs by blending the tradition of time with freshness of today. Her passion for architectural detailing creates the solid foundation & proportionate backdrop which elevates any worthy design. Through active listening & optimistic mindset, Julie has established many successful professional relationships. As a guiding principal, Julie seeks to have her projects reflect her commitment to outstanding design & the long term success of her clients.
After earning a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Harrington Institute of Interior Design, Chicago in 1991, Julie began her professional career at the international firm of Swanke, Hayden & Connell Architects, Chicago. Julie's responsibilities were focused on large scale space planning & design development through construction documentation. Based on examination, Julie earned her NCIDQ certification (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) in 1993 and the professional license of Interior Design from the State of Illinois. With the strong mentoring of detail driven technical directors, Julie developed skills that earned her a duel role as Project Designer and Tenant Coordinator Project Manager at Lieber Architects, Chicago. After many successful years working in Chicago, Julie joined the design firm of Wickham Interiors Inc, Crystal Lake. There she specialized in commercial design while broadening her exposure to high-end residential clients.
Thrilled to pursue her own studio vision, Julie co-founded JWN Designs Inc on the simple desire to share & provide quintessential designs that motivate & enrich the lives of those whom experience them. Besides her passion for the world of architecture & design, Julie enjoys spending active time with her family & friends outdoors lakeside.

John's detailed style allows project budgets to be addressed and secured while the design process proceeds on target. But mostly his dependable thorough approach is admired by project teammates & respected by clients.
Prior his corporate career and co-founding JWN Designs, John earned his Masters in Computer Science at Northern Illinois University and graduated with a Bachelors of Science double majoring in Computer Science & Mathematics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
